Frequent Questions

What is the Substance Registry Services (SRS)?

The Substance Registry System (SRS) is the authoritative source for basic information about chemicals, biological organisms, and other substances of interest to EPA and its state and tribal partners. There is a record in the SRS for every substance tracked or regulated by an EPA program or environmental statute. Each substance record identifies those programs and statutes and their synonyms for that substance.
