Frequent Questions

On the details page for a chemical, I see in the right-hand corner the status "Approved". What does this mean?

When a substance is added to the Substance Registry Services (SRS), it first goes through a pending status while a chemist reviews the information about the chemical and obtains the standardized information for that chemical. Once the chemist has conducted this review, the chemical is marked for approval. This status has no bearing on any regulatory status.
