Frequent Questions

How will Terminology Services support implementation of the Semantic Web?

The Semantic Web is about using language to record how the data relates to real world objects. Terminology Services will enable terms to be related to concepts.  This allows a person, or a machine, to start off in one database with a term related to a concept, and then move through an unending set of databases pulling different terms that relate to that concept so that the information about the concept can be brought together even though it might be represented by different terms in different databases. It enables the connection of same thing.  http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/
